The Instagram Plus subscription has officially launched, enabling paying users to access tools for reaching wider or more-specific audiences. This global rollout follows Meta’s announcement last month about introducing a subscription tier to several of its social media properties.
The subscription provides features focused on enhancing content visibility. Key tools include Story Spotlight, which prioritizes a user’s profile for friends, and Story Extend, allowing content to remain visible for 48 hours instead of the standard 24. Subscribers can also create multiple audience lists to determine who sees specific stories.
Additional tools include a preview feature for stories, insights on how often stories are rewatched, and the ability to search for viewers of a story. Users can choose to publish posts directly to their profile or highlights, bypassing the main feed altogether.
Instagram Plus also offers customization options. Subscribers can select from various app icons and text fonts for their bios, pinning up to six items to the top of their profile. Additionally, they can send animated super hearts in response to friends’ stories.
Meta announced that further capabilities will be added in the coming months. The subscription is priced at $3.99 per month.
