Meta announced a new suite of AI tools for Facebook users, incorporating features such as a chatbot named AI Mode and enhanced photo-editing capabilities. The AI Mode allows users to ask questions, demonstrating its use with an inquiry about nearby summer vacation spots.

The AI Mode accesses data from across Meta’s apps, including Groups and Reels, offering tailored responses. Meta claims the chatbot will provide “real perspectives and experience” rather than standard search results. This feature is powered by the company’s Muse Spark technology.

The update also introduces an array of photo-editing tools. These include new collage cutout templates for photos stored in the camera roll and fresh transition effects to create “smooth, stylized video montages.” Users can generate these montages with “just a tap.”

Additions to the photo editing functionality feature new presets that simplify changing clothing, hair, and accessories using AI. Meta specifically targets sports fans with this feature, enabling users to virtually wear team jerseys.

The AI tools are currently available for mobile Facebook users. There is no information on whether a web version will be released.
