Microsoft announced new adjustments to the Windows Search Box in Windows 11, aimed at improving user experience. Members of the Windows Insider program may start seeing these changes beginning today.

The revised user experience will feature a streamlined design for the home screen, reducing visual clutter and making it easier for users to access recent searches. The display of search results will incorporate larger spacing to enhance visibility and allow the inclusion of useful metadata.

Additionally, users will have the option to toggle visibility for results from the web and the Microsoft Store alongside local files. Sponsored content will no longer appear at the top of web search results.

The improvements are expected to enhance the ability to locate both files and applications more efficiently. Microsoft has shifted its focus back to quality of life enhancements for Windows 11 after previous efforts on the Copilot feature.

Incremental updates also include allowing users to adjust the size of the Start menu. More significant updates consist of a system designed to roll back faulty drivers.
