The next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked launch is scheduled for July 22, featuring new foldable devices, including two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Samsung has confirmed that it will introduce its latest innovations in foldable smartphones during the event in London.
Concrete details remain limited, but analysts expect the unveiling of two to three new phones along with potential updates to Samsung’s Galaxy Watch line. Notably, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to debut, incorporating a reworked hinge, enhanced performance, and a lighter chassis.
Sources indicate that significant redesigns for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 may be restricted due to a global RAM shortage. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is anticipated to feature a wider main display for improved aspect ratios when opened, though it may only have two rear cameras instead of three to manage costs.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, another new model, is rumored to include advanced display technology to reduce creasing, an updated processor, and three rear cameras. However, there is uncertainty about the specific differences between the base Z Fold 8 and the Ultra version.
This will mark the first time Samsung introduces two book-style foldables at the same event. The company has been teasing a new phone design with a wider format on social media, hinting at notable changes to the Z Fold family.
Samsung may also reveal the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, or new Android XR glasses during the event, although some products might be launched later this fall. Reservations for the upcoming devices are currently open, with a $30 credit offered for pre-orders.
The Galaxy Unpacked event will be streamed live on Samsung.com and its YouTube channel at 9 AM ET/6 AM PT on July 22.
