Samsung has launched an Ocean Mode feature for the Galaxy S25 Ultra as part of the latest Expert RAW update in the One UI 8.5 beta.
This new photo-taking mode aims to enhance underwater photography and follows its initial introduction for the Galaxy S24 Ultra in early 2025, specifically designed to aid oceanographers with coral reef restoration. The availability of Ocean Mode has expanded after previously being exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The Expert RAW update for the Galaxy S25 Ultra carries version 5.0.08.2, according to SamMobile. Ocean Mode automatically corrects colors and minimizes motion blur, providing users with enhanced imaging capabilities in underwater environments.
Additionally, the feature includes an interval shooting option that allows users to take continuous photos at two-, five-, or ten-second intervals. Despite these enhancements, users should be aware of the limitations associated with the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s IP68 rating.
This rating signifies protection against dust and prolonged immersion in fresh water, but it does not guarantee durability against salt water exposure. Samsung cautions that immersing the Galaxy S25 Ultra in salt water could damage its watertight seals.
