GoPro will reduce its global workforce by 23 percent by the end of 2026, as the company aims to address recent financial challenges. The action camera manufacturer will lay off 145 employees, starting in the second quarter of 2026, according to a Form 8-K filing.

Currently, GoPro employs 631 individuals. The cost of the layoffs is projected to be between $11.5 million and $15 million, which encompasses severance packages and healthcare benefits. The decision follows a year-end revenue decline reported in GoPro’s 2025 financial results, including a $9 million loss in the fourth quarter.

GoPro’s previous layoffs occurred in the second half of 2024. Despite these cuts, the company remains optimistic about the upcoming year, planning to leverage its AI-centric GP3 processor to enhance performance and innovation. The initial wave of GP3-powered GoPro cameras is expected to be launched in the coming months.

Once a leader in action cameras, GoPro now faces increased competition from DJI, Insta360, and smartphone manufacturers, altering its position in the market since its first product launch in the early 2000s.
