Samsung has begun rolling out native Google Cast support to select 2023 and 2024 TV models, ending reliance on its Smart View feature for casting.

The update is being delivered via a One UI Tizen update and will allow users to cast videos, music, and photos directly from Android devices, ChromeOS devices, or Chrome browsers. Previously, users had to depend on Smart View, which primarily suited Galaxy device users, causing inconvenience for others.

Initial reports indicate that models like the S90D OLED have already received the update, suggesting a gradual rollout rather than a one-time mass release. Samsung has confirmed that its 2026 TV lineup will include built-in Google Cast, indicating a shift in strategy toward greater compatibility.

The new update also introduces a redesigned home screen and features like “Universal Gestures” to enhance navigation across devices. However, availability may vary by model and region, with full access potentially taking weeks or months to reach all users.

Samsung’s move to integrate Google Cast into its TVs marks a significant upgrade to user experience, streamlining the casting process for a broader range of devices. As the rollout continues, more users are expected to access these features.
