The law enforcement officers also stated that they didn’t provide Twitter staff with “specific instructions or details regarding the Hunter Biden laptop story.” Additionally, the FBI denied having back channels of communication with Twitter staff in an effort to bury or derail the Hunter Biden laptop story.
The agency said that it concentrates on behaviors ascribed to foreign actors, not on the substance or narrative, when questioned whether it directly or indirectly sent information to Twitter workers regarding the Hunter Biden story.
The law enforcement agency was cited by Fox News as stating, “It is unfortunate that conspiracy theorists and others are feeding the American public misinformation with the sole purpose of attempting to discredit the agency.” The organization added:
“The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements, which involve numerous companies over multiple sectors and industries.”
