A few weeks ago Twitter started testing reactions to tweets. The addition of this new function on the social network is inspired by competitors like Facebook, allowing users to respond to a tweet with different choices rather than just the well-known heart. Options such as surprise or what amuses them are among them.

Twitter stops testing reactions

The social network began testing this feature in Turkey a few weeks ago. Although in the last few hours these tests seem to have stopped without any announcement.

Twitter has temporarily removed the 'react with emoji' feature, which it has recently started testing in Turkey. It is not yet clear when the system will be activated again.. @alex193a @wongmjane @TechCrunch pic.twitter.com/sJBHxyaWNl

Tests stopped

Many users in Turkey have been using these reactions on their Twitter account over the past few weeks. In the last few hours more and more users are announcing that this feature is no longer available on their accounts. The social network has deactivated it without prior notice, although it is not known at the moment if it is because they have already obtained the necessary data or if they have made the decision not to go ahead with this function.

Many point to the fact that the social network is working on correcting a series of bugs and technical problems so that these reactions will be available again. At the moment it is not known whether these reactions to tweets will be made available again to users or not.

We will have to wait and see what Twitter’s plans are with these reactions. The social network is thus jumping on the reactions bandwagon, something we have known about Facebook for years. It is a new attempt by the app to get more and better interaction between users, so it will be interesting to see if this feature gives the results that the social network expects.
