Facebook announced on Wednesday the reimagining of its Creator Studio tool as a stand-alone AI companion app designed to assist creators in growing their audiences on the platform. Meta aims to retain creators amid competition from TikTok and YouTube, possibly reducing reliance on third-party tools like ChatGPT for content creation and performance analysis.
The new app, currently being tested with select creators, integrates Facebook’s recently launched AI creator assistant. This assistant offers personalized recommendations based on factors such as content style, performance, audience engagement, and specific goals.
Creators will have options to inquire about optimal posting times and gather insights on audience interaction. The AI assistant’s conversational nature allows for follow-up questions regarding audience shifts over time.
In addition to the AI assistant, the app incorporates new features including an AI-powered comment tool. This tool highlights important comments and drafts responses in the creator’s tone, which can be reviewed and approved before posting.
Upon accessing the app daily, creators will encounter a feed showcasing priorities, such as evaluating post performance, tracking goal progress, and identifying comments requiring responses.
The announcement is part of Meta’s broader trend of app launches. Last month, the company introduced Forum, a stand-alone app for Facebook Groups akin to Reddit. Additionally, in April, Meta launched Instants, allowing users to share disappearing photos with Instagram friends.
According to The New York Times, Meta is also developing an internal app named “Arena,” modeled after Polymarket, which has not yet been released. The Wall Street Journal reported that CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicated that AI-driven efficiencies would enable Meta to develop more applications than it historically has.
