A Samsung customer support agent indicated that the stable update for One UI 8.5 could be released globally around May 4, with an initial rollout in Korea potentially beginning on April 30.
This timeline suggests a wait of just over three weeks for users of the Galaxy S25 series to receive the stable software, following the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, which debuted with One UI 8.5.
Twitter user @MatthewReiter05 shared a screenshot from Samsung support that appears to confirm the expected launch date for the Galaxy S25 series. However, caution is advised regarding this information, as support agents may not have access to definitive launch details.
While the support agent’s claim stipulates that the rollout could occur as suggested, updates are susceptible to change due to unforeseen software complications. This uncertainty underscores the need for skepticism toward such timelines from customer support channels.
Tipster Tarun Vats had earlier projected the same dates, predicting an April 30 launch in Korea followed by a May 4 global rollout. Additionally, Samsung is extending the One UI 8.5 beta program to older models, such as the Galaxy A35, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy Z5 foldables.
The evolving situation indicates Samsung’s ongoing commitment to update a broad range of devices, although users should remain aware of the potential for schedule changes.
