How to get the Master Sword TOTK: The Legend of Zelda
The renowned Master Sword is lost early in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom because of the plot. You will, however, have the chance to get it later. Here is a tutorial to help you win the game’s, Master Sword. Please be advised that there are significant spoilers in this guide.
At the beginning of the game, Link is holding the Master Sword. Unfortunately, Ganondorf corrupts the blade during the prologue, causing Link to lose the harmed version. Although this loss cannot be prevented, it is possible to find where the Master Sword is.
The Deku Tree is usually used to find the Master Sword. First, purify Great Hyrule Forest. Talking to the Deku Tree triggers the “Recovering Master Sword” quest. This quest shows the sword moves.
Following its path, you’ll find the Master Sword atop the Light Dragon’s head. Reach the Light Dragon to get it. Helpful tips:
- The Lanayru-based Light Dragon may also circle the planet.
- Use the Skyview Tower closest to the dragon to reach it.
- Land on the Light Dragon’s back to reach its head. The Master Sword starts a minigame that requires you to hold the A button until Link can draw it out.
- The minigame requires two full stamina circles. Stamina-boosting food is ineffective. The Horned Statue can convert hearts into stamina if you don’t have two complete circles.
- The Master Sword will be yours again after the minigame.

How much stamina for Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom?
The Master Sword is found on the head of the Light Dragon in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom after Link misplaces it. Link needs two full bars of stamina to recover the weapon.
- You need to finish 20 shrines—20 if you don’t include the first four instructional shrines—to get the necessary Stamina.
- Any Angel shrine will accept Spirit Orbs in return for Stamina enhancements if you have a sufficient supply.
- You may go to the dragon’s position on the game map, where Master Sword is located, with two full bars of stamina.
- You need to be patient and wait for the dragon to pass by your spot as it moves across the map on a predefined course.
Use the paraglider to ride the dragon’s back when it is close by, then use your gathered stamina to snag Master Sword.
Master Sword damage Tears of the Kingdom
In contrast to Breath of the Wild, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom omits a precise stat value for the Master Sword’s basic damage. However, in my experience using it, the damage it has caused seems similar to that of Breath of the Wild. Only the increased damage that results from fusing the legendary sword with other in-game weapons is shown in the Master Sword’s stats. For instance, if you combine Master Sword with a Blue Lazalfo’s Horn using your fuse ability, the damage you do is increased by +12.
Master Sword’s basic damage cannot yet be determined, however, we do know it is just as potent as it was in TOTK’s predecessor. Additionally, unlike other weapons in the game, the Master Sword doesn’t shatter. Rather, it depletes its energy and requires a 10-minute cooldown.
