The second generation of the wearable air conditioner from Sony, has a stylish design and improvements in its cooling capacity.

We have ourselves a strange product here and this time it is not Xiaomi who presents it. Since 2019, Sony already had a portable conditioner called Reon Pocket, which is placed directly under out clothes to cool us and is controllable by a smartphone

A quite popular gadget apparently in Japan and other Asian markets, where it was financed through crowdfunding, or at least so interesting that Sony has occurred to renew it with this new Reon Pocket 2 that improves its design slightly starting from a very similar concept. Although this time we have a redesigned gadget, with all internal components improved for better efficiency.

The new Reon Pocket 2 can absorb up to twice the heat to cool in a faster and more powerful way, also adding an improved sweat resistance to the whole, to round off a device that will be wearable. Thus, this wearable air conditioner is now more suitable for use in sports, although it is still not fully waterproof so you can not get wet at all.

It has also been designed a new accessory similar to a strap that holds it on the neck, so we can use it with normal clothes, although the giant Minato has signed agreements with sportswear brands such as Le Coq Sportif, Munsingwear, or Descente to produce a range of clothing that has specific pockets to place the Reon Pocket 2.

Sony has emphasized its use for golfers, something that seems rather curious to us at least because we can imagine a few use cases surely something better: the subway at rush hour, crowded ceremonies or events with heavy clothing, walks in the sun in the summer …

And in case you’re wondering, the new Sony Reon Pocket 2 is already available in Japan since this week, where it costs 14,850 yen or something like about 138 dollars at the current exchange rate more or less.
