Amazon is integrating its Luna game streaming service into the Prime Video app, starting today for Fire TV users in the US and UK. Prime subscribers in these regions will see a new Games tab in the Prime Video app that allows for easy access to streaming games alongside movies, shows, and live TV. Plans are in place to expand this integration to additional countries and devices in the coming months.
Prime subscribers can access Luna games at no additional cost using either a phone or controller. Featured titles on the platform include Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Fallout 4, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Control, and Dispatch. The game selection also includes family-oriented options such as Clue, Ticket to Ride, and Taboo. The lineup will be refreshed monthly to keep offerings updated.
Amazon stated that adding games to Prime Video “makes it easier for members to go deeper into their favorite franchises.” This is exemplified by the introduction of the recent Masters of the Universe movie on Prime Video, complemented by the availability of its corresponding co-op game, Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite, within the same app.
This integration comes as Amazon seeks to enhance awareness of its gaming offerings, especially amidst challenges in the gaming industry and rising hardware costs. The move also coincides with Netflix’s push into gaming, which includes its own cloud gaming offerings such as the recent short horror game, Unhinged, and a World Cup-themed game, both of which launched last month.
