The June Android Drop introduces several new features aimed at enhancing personalization and safety for users. Alerts for spotting scammers impersonating contacts through Phone by Google, equipped with fake call detection, are now available on Android 12 and above devices.

The fake call detection feature verifies if a call is genuinely from a contact, and users receive warnings if the caller is suspected to be a scammer. Users can quickly find outfits with the new Circle to Search feature, which is now accessible on all Android 14 devices, allowing for complete outfits to be found without switching applications.

Google Photos will soon introduce a digital wardrobe that catalogs users’ clothing from photo libraries. This feature will begin rolling out next week for eligible Android users in the U.S., India, and Brazil with Android 10 or higher.

New safety features will be added to the Personal Safety app for children under 13, including the ability to display medical information and emergency contacts on their lock screens. The app will allow these users to enable car crash detection that automatically calls emergency services and texts contacts after an incident.

For older users, teens can access location features like Safety Check and real-time sharing with emergency contacts through the Personal Safety app, which is available globally.

Google Play Books introduces a “Catch me up” feature for recaps and allows users to highlight passages for deeper insights on select English titles. This update begins today and promotes engagement with reading materials.

File sharing has been simplified with the Quick Share update, enabling users to easily share files, including photos and videos, between select Android phones and iPhones. This functionality is designed to work similarly to Apple’s AirDrop.

Customization is further enhanced with new Emoji Kitchen combinations in Gboard, allowing users to send personalized emoji remixes. More updates are anticipated in Android 17.
