Google’s research tool, NotebookLM, has been renamed to Gemini Notebook to better align with its suite of AI tools. The service will continue as a standalone product separate from the rest of the Gemini suite for the time being. Alongside the name change, Google has introduced several updates, including the ability to write and execute code natively, enabling users to perform complex data analysis based solely on their research data.
Google plans to soon allow users to transfer notebooks created in Gemini Notebook into AI mode within Google Search. The company also reported that Gemini Notebook has surpassed 30 million individual users and is utilized by more than 600,000 organizations. The integration of NotebookLM into the Gemini app occurred in April.
