Google has expanded its AI Mode this week by integrating it with Canva, YouTube Music, and Instacart in the US. The new functionality is designed to enhance user experience by allowing AI services to operate seamlessly without requiring separate access through the Gemini app.

With YouTube Music, users can create playlists by prompting the AI with specific genres and moods. The AI will generate a suggested playlist that can be directly opened in the YouTube Music app.

In Canva, users can request the AI to design templates, such as flyers for events. This feature leverages calendar information to personalize designs, streamlining the process for users planning events.

The integration with Instacart allows users to add grocery items and ingredients to their shopping cart. The AI utilizes saved calendar events to assist in compiling relevant shopping lists, such as items needed for a barbecue.

Google indicated ongoing efforts to collaborate with other partners for additional integrations. Personal Intelligence, which enables Gemini to gather information from various applications, was introduced at the beginning of the year. The company has been steadily enhancing AI capabilities within its Search functionalities throughout 2026.

Earlier this year, Google began allowing its AI to reference Reddit to provide expert first-hand accounts that enrich responses. At its I/O 2026 event, the company announced improvements to AI Search aimed at delivering more refined results.

A new Intelligent Search Box was also introduced, designed to dynamically expand for complex queries and to accept input from videos, images, files, and Chrome tabs.
