Airbnb is set to expand its offerings by introducing hotel bookings starting this summer, aiming to include thousands of boutique and independent hotels in major cities such as New York, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome, and Singapore. The company stated it will feature “hotels that feel like Airbnb” and will provide a price-match guarantee if customers find lower rates elsewhere. Additionally, customers who book these featured hotels will receive up to 15 percent in credit toward future bookings.
In conjunction with hotel bookings, Airbnb is launching in-app grocery delivery services. This feature allows guests to have groceries delivered during their trip or stocked in their rental before their arrival, where available. Grocery delivery will be free for Airbnb guests, and a $10 discount will apply on orders of $50 or more. As of now, the grocery service is accessible in 25 U.S. cities through a partnership with Instacart.
Airbnb has also partnered with Welcome Pickups to offer airport pickup services in 160 cities worldwide. Guests who book airport pickups through Airbnb will benefit from a 20 percent discount on each ride. Additionally, a collaboration with luggage storage company Bounce will enable users to find and view the nearest luggage drop-off locations directly in the app. Users will also receive a 20 percent credit toward their next booking for utilizing this service.
Furthermore, car rental options will be integrated into the Airbnb platform this summer, allowing users to see available vehicles near their rental listings. Guests will receive 20 percent credit back on their first car rental booked through the platform.
Lastly, Airbnb plans to enhance its experiences list by adding thousands of new options this summer, including experiences spotlighting landmarks like the Tokyo Skytree and the Taj Mahal. The company is also set to expand its food culture experiences and provide special FIFA World Cup experiences across six host cities.
