Apple has increased prices for several MacBook and iPad models, following comments from CEO Tim Cook about the impact of a memory crunch on the company’s pricing strategy. The entry-level MacBook Neo rises by $100 to $699, while the 13-inch MacBook Air 512GB is now priced at $1,299, an increase from $1,099. The price of the 1TB M5 MacBook Pro has also risen by $300 to £1,999.
The basic iPad now costs $449, a $100 increase from $349. All iPad Pro models have seen a price hike of $200. The new prices for the iPads are as follows: the iPad mini is now $599, up from $499; the 11-inch iPad Air is priced at $749, an increase of $150; the 13-inch iPad Air now costs $949, up by $200; the 11-inch iPad Pro is priced at $1,199 (an increase of $200); and the 13-inch iPad Pro costs $1,499, also up by $200.
Price adjustments for MacBooks include the following: the MacBook Neo is now $699 (+$100); the 13-inch MacBook Air is $1,299 (+$200); the iMac is priced at $1,499 (+$200); the 15-inch MacBook Air also costs $1,499 (+$200); the M5 MacBook Pro is currently $1,999 (+$300); the M5 Pro MacBook Pro is $2,499 (+$300); the M4 Max Mac Studio costs $2,499 (+$500); the M5 Max MacBook Pro is now $4,099 (+$500); and the M3 Ultra Mac Studio is priced at $5,299 (+$1,300).
As of now, there have been no changes to iPhone prices. Other product categories are affected; the Apple TV 4K has increased from $129 to $199, and the HomePod has risen by $50 to $349. The Vision Pro headset is now priced at $3,699, an increase from $3,499. The new prices are available on Apple’s store page.
