Nothing is set to launch its new entry-level device, the Phone 4b, on July 7 at 6AM Eastern time. The phone has been teased through illustrations and animations on social media platform X. The Phone 4b will resemble the earlier released Phone 4a in design.
The device will feature a modified Nothing glyph bar, positioned at the margin of the camera module, showcasing five panels of light instead of the previous seven. This glyph bar serves as a vertical rear-panel lighting interface that can be customized with different lighting patterns for notifications.
Benchmarking data from Geekbench indicates that the Phone 4b will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and equipped with 8GB of RAM. This model marks the introduction of Nothing’s first entry in its B series of smartphones.
Co-founder Akis Evangelidis noted on X that the B series “builds on the success of the A series by expanding into a new segment, while maintaining a clear product hierarchy.” The A series is described as Nothing’s most premium line below flagship devices without a letter designation, with the B series positioned below it.
In related news, CMF, a budget brand owned by Nothing, announced it will not release a follow-up to its Phone Pro 2 this year due to high RAM prices. Evangelidis stated that CMF is currently unable to produce a phone that “feels like a genuine step forward at a price that makes sense for CMF.”
