OpenAI is set to launch a cybersecurity model intended to compete with Anthropic’s Claude Mythos, according to sources. The new model will be available to a select group of businesses through OpenAI’s Trusted Access for Cyber pilot program.
This initiative, which was first announced in February, aims to enhance baseline safeguards while testing trusted access for defensive acceleration. OpenAI committed $10 million in API credits to businesses participating in the pilot program.
Anthropic recently announced plans to release Claude Mythos Preview to a small group of companies. The purpose is to help organizations identify and rectify software vulnerabilities, a response to growing concerns regarding the misuse of AI in critical infrastructure.
Government officials have raised alarms over the potential for AI tools to disrupt essential systems, such as financial networks and power grids. RFA, a global IT and cybersecurity provider, has indicated that AI is enhancing cybersecurity risks, particularly for private equity firms.
