Anthropic has launched the Reflect dashboard for its chatbot Claude, aimed at helping users track their engagement and promote efficiency. This new feature is now available on the Claude web client and desktop app, combining elements reminiscent of Spotify Wrapped and Apple’s Screen Time tool.

The Reflect dashboard provides a summary of recent conversations, defaulting to the last month of interactions, but also allows users to review data from the last three, six, or twelve months. Users can view their most active day, peak hour, and total chats, with plans to incorporate a time spent chatting metric in the future. Currently, this information is not available.

In addition to usage statistics, the dashboard has settings for users to set break reminders and time limits within the “Time and focus” tab. These reminders can be configured independently and dismissed during active chats. A breakdown of the most frequently discussed topics is also included, showing the percentage of user interactions centered on various themes.

The dashboard offers AI “fluency” recommendations designed to enhance user interactions with Claude. For instance, users may be advised to utilize Claude’s Projects feature to avoid repetitive context in prompts. An example provided detailed a suggestion to create a custom fact-checking skill, which enables Claude to present sources and confidence levels for information.

Ryn Linthicum, Anthropic’s head of wellbeing policy, stated that Reflect was developed in response to a study revealing user anxieties and optimism regarding AI products. “We were really intentional about building [the dashboard] with an eye toward how we can upskill people’s usage of Claude,” Linthicum said. The intent is to facilitate efficient use rather than encourage prolonged engagement.

Currently, Anthropic does not track user time spent on Claude to avoid promoting excess usage, but plans are in place to provide this data alongside usage management settings in the future. The dashboard will also be made available on mobile at a later date.

The Reflect feature is being released in beta and is accessible for both Free accounts and Pro and Max subscribers.
