Meta has launched two new Ray-Ban smart glasses designed specifically for prescription wearers, enhancing the product line with features tailored for all-day comfort. These new models will support nearly all prescriptions and will retail starting at $499, available through optical retailers in the U.S. and select international markets from April 14.
The new glasses include two styles: Blayzer, a rectangular design offered in Standard and Large sizes, and Scriber, a rounded frame style. Meta states these glasses are built to provide a personalized fit with features like flexible overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and adjustable temple tips that can be modified by an optician.
Alongside the prescription models, Meta announced new color options and lens configurations for existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta frames. The Ray-Ban Meta Skyler frames will feature shades such as Shiny Transparent Peach with Transitions Brown Lenses, while Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses will come in various combinations, including Vanguard Black with Prizm Black Lenses.
Further enhancements include new AI capabilities in the smart glasses. Users will now be able to track nutrition more efficiently using voice commands or photos for hands-free meal logging. This feature allows Meta AI to gather key nutritional information and provide personalized insights over time aimed at promoting healthier choices.
Meta is integrating additional functionalities into its Early Access Program, including hands-free WhatsApp summaries. Users can request summaries of group chats or specific message details, with the assurance that interactions are processed on-device and secured with end-to-end encryption.
In a separate rollout, Neural Handwriting will soon be available to all users of the Meta Ray-Ban Display. This feature enables users to write responses silently on any surface, facilitating discreet communication across platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and standard Android and iOS messaging applications.
