Netflix has increased prices for various subscription tiers, its ad-supported plan now costing $8.99 per month.

The price adjustments reflect the company’s continuous investment in content and service enhancements, impacting new and existing subscribers globally.

The standard ad-free plan now costs $19.99 per month, an increase from $17.99. The premium plan’s monthly cost rose by $2 to $26.99. The cost to add an extra user to an ad-supported plan is now $6.99, a decrease from $7.99. For ad-free plans, adding an extra viewer now costs $9.99, up from $8.99.

Netflix stated to TechCrunch that these changes reflect improvements to its “wide range of entertainment” and service quality.

Android Authority first reported these price hikes. New Netflix subscribers will see the updated prices starting March 26. Existing members will experience the changes over the coming months and will receive email notifications a month prior to their billing adjustment.

Netflix last raised its prices in January 2025. Since then, the platform added video podcasts and expanded livestreaming content. The company also announced plans to revamp its mobile application and enhance its short-form video features.

These price adjustments follow Netflix’s withdrawal from a bid for Warner Bros. Discovery last month. Warner Bros. Discovery had received a “superior proposal” from Paramount Skydance for $31 a share, prompting Netflix to decline increasing its $82.7 billion all-cash bid for the studio.
