Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, Square Enix announced during a Nintendo Direct livestream.

The title serves as the second installment in the Final Fantasy 7 remake project. It follows Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which released on Switch on January 22. The six-month interval contrasts with the four-year wait between the first and second chapters for PlayStation users.

Rebirth remakes the middle section of the original 1997 PlayStation 1 game Final Fantasy 7. It features updated graphics and shifts from turn-based combat to a real-time action system. The Switch 2 version is a complete port of the PlayStation 5 edition. A trailer accompanying the announcement highlighted the game’s visual quality.

The same port arrives on Xbox Series X/S on June 3. With these releases, both remake installments will be available across major consoles, including PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch 2.

The project spans three parts to remake the original title. Rumors point to the third installment arriving around 2027.

The Nintendo Direct also announced several Bethesda games for Switch 2. Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition launches on February 24. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle follows on May 12. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered arrives later in the year.
