NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that the company plans to invest a great deal of money in OpenAI’s latest funding round, describing it as potentially the largest investment NVIDIA has ever made. Speaking to reporters in Taipei, Huang made the comments following a Wall Street Journal report claiming the two companies were rethinking a previous $100 billion deal.

In September, NVIDIA and OpenAI announced that NVIDIA would invest up to $100 billion to build 10 gigawatts of AI data centers, with the first phase targeted to go online in the second half of 2026. The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the discussions, reported that negotiations had not progressed beyond early stages, the agreement was nonbinding, and Huang had privately criticized OpenAI’s business approach as lacking discipline.

Huang dismissed the Wall Street Journal’s claims as “nonsense.” He affirmed his support, saying, “I believe in OpenAI. The work that they do is incredible. They’re one of the most consequential companies of our time.” Bloomberg reported that NVIDIA’s investment in this funding round would not approach the $100 billion figure.
