Apple announced on Wednesday that Sid Meier’sCivilization VII will launch on Apple Arcade on February 5, almost exactly one year after its initial release.
The strategy game is already available as a purchase on Apple devices, but this will mark its first appearance on the subscription service. Apple Arcade subscribers will receive the game for free.
The pricing reflects the title’s mixed reviews. A frequent criticism targets the game’s era-transition mechanics. One Steam reviewer wrote: “I have Ben Franklin leading the Romans that turned into Ben Franklin leading Spain… like what? Who asked for this?” Reviewers have otherwise praised the game’s visuals.
The Apple Arcade edition will support Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
