EA and Battlefield Studios announced on Tuesday that Season 2 of Battlefield 6 will launch on February 17, a delay of nearly one month from its original January 20 date. The decision stems from community feedback, prompting the team to extend Season 1 until the start of the next season.

In a blog post, EA stated: “During our ongoing development, we’ve continued to review community feedback and, in order to keep our promise, determined that our best path forward is to extend Season 1 and give ourselves extra time to further polish and refine Season 2.”

Battlefield 6 launched in October and sold over seven million copies in its first three days. Recent Steam reviews highlight issues with the Battle Pass, which one reviewer with over 450 helpful votes described as “extremely predatory and very FOMO, while the season itself doesn’t give a lot to offer.” The same review noted “so much FOMO stuff that it becomes more stressful than fun.”

To compensate, the Season 1 extension includes the Frostfire Bonus Path. Players can unlock new free and premium customization rewards, a Weapon Package, a Soldier Skin, and XP boosts by advancing through its tiers. The extension update deploys on January 20.
