Team Fortress 2 has released its Summer 2025 update, featuring 10 new community-created maps, the Summer 2025 Cosmetic Case with 23 items, four new taunts, and 14 Unusual effects. These changes support ongoing player engagement.
Until September 15, 2025, all cosmetic and taunt cases will provide Summer 2025 Unusual effects instead of standard ones. This update also includes several bug fixes and general gameplay tweaks, such as refreshed in-game tips.
Balance changes have been made, notably a 30% damage boost for mini-sentries. Additionally, a fix has been implemented addressing an issue where dead players were incorrectly marked as AFK during long rounds, along with resolving several bugs related to Hale.
In July 2023, Team Fortress 2 achieved a concurrent user record of 258,997 players, highlighting its enduring popularity. Valve has released the game’s full client and server code, allowing fans to modify the game non-commercially.
