Beginning on March 1, 2023, the Apple battery replacement prices will increase by $20 to $50.

Apple increased the cost of upgrading the battery from $69 to $99 when it released the iPhone 14 line in September 2022. It is now keeping the $99 pricing for the most recent devices while increasing it for all previous generations.

Users of the AppleCare+ or those whose iPhones are still covered by warranty are unaffected by the new hike. Apple’s page for predicting battery replacement costs, however, states that all other prices are fluctuating. Apple had this to say about the Apple battery replacement price increases:

“The current out-of-warranty battery service fee will apply until the end of February 2023,”

“Effective March 1, 2023, the out-of-warranty battery service fee will be increased by $20 for all iPhone models prior to iPhone 14.”

Apple battery replacement prices are going to be increased in March

Beginning on March 1, 2023, all models of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 series, as well as previous iPhone models, will cost $20 more for out-of-warranty battery replacements, according to Apple. According to a calculator on the company’s website that estimates costs, Apple currently charges $69 for a battery replacement on the majority of iPhone models.

Customers who do not have AppleCare or AppleCare Plus for their devices will solely be affected by the price hike. Customers who have AppleCare + pay nothing for a battery replacement once their battery health has dropped below 80%.

March 1 also marks the date of a price increase in other devices of Apple

Apart from the Apple battery replacement prices, from the beginning on the same date, Apple will charge extra to replace a MacBook battery. The MacBook Pro and MacBook fees increase by $50, while the MacBook Air price increases by $30.

  • MacBook Air was $129 and will now cost $159
  • MacBook Pro was previously $199 and will now cost $249
  • MacBook was $199 (for models 2016 and 2017) and it will now cost $249

A standard iPad’s battery replacement will continue to cost between $99 and $199, depending on the model. The current $179 price for a battery replacement for the current 6th-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro will likewise stand. The price of the 4th generation 11-inch iPad Pro will also remain at $149.

However, Apple is hiking the price of the battery replacement from $99 to $119 by $20 for all other models:

  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation or earlier)
  • iPad Pro 11, inch (3rd generation or earlier)
  • iPad Pro 10.5-inch
  • iPad Pro 9.7-inch
  • iPod touch (6th generation or earlier)
  • iOS Air (5th generation or earlier)

How long does it take Apple to replace a battery?

How long it takes Apple to replace the battery depends on the sort of phone you have. But in any Apple support center, you’ll have to wait longer than one hour. It could take less time or more time to do it yourself or at a store with an Apple license. It implies that you can solve the issue in a day. increased Apple battery replacement prices do not mean that this service will be cut. Apple is a technology company that thinks about its users and works fast.

While the new Apple battery replacement prices are going to hurt our wallets a bit, do you remember the last time you needed to replace your iPhone’s battery? Because we don’t. Although Apple products are a little more expensive than other products in the market, Apple often offers you devices that you will use for a long time. Our expectations from Apple in 2023 are quite high.
