Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy credit card, designed to offer enhanced cash rewards for purchases of its products. The announcement comes ahead of the company’s Unpacked event scheduled for July 22.
Consumers will earn a five percent cash reward on eligible purchases made directly with Samsung. For example, the entry-level Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, priced at $1,500, would generate a $75 cash reward for buyers. Additionally, new users can receive a $200 cash reward if they spend $2,000 within the first 90 days of account opening, effectively a ten percent cash back offer.
The Galaxy Card includes a three percent cash reward for purchases made through Samsung Wallet, and a two percent reward for payments towards streaming services. All other purchases will yield a one percent cash reward. Users will also benefit from a 20 percent discount on Samsung’s VIP Advantage loyalty and warranty platform.
The Galaxy Card will be available for online application or at Samsung retail stores starting July 22. The Unpacked presentation is set to begin at 9 AM ET on that same day, where Samsung is expected to introduce additional new products.
While Samsung enters the branded credit card market, other tech giants like Apple and Amazon have likewise established their own credit card offerings.
