Carbon Mobile is a new brand based in Germany and they are presenting the first ever smartphone with acarbon fiber body, Carbon 1 MK II; and today we are going to talk about its specs, price, and release date.
Innovating in the smartphone segment is becoming increasingly difficult. Not only because it seems that everything has already been invented, but also because a smartphone has logical limits in terms of design, size, and performance. Even so, there is always room for a smartphone that stands out in some aspect, as Carbon Mobile, a new German brand, has understood. Because what would a smartphone in carbon fiber look like?
Carbon fiber smartphone at a high-end price
As is often the case with innovations, the first device to use them wields this fact not only as a differentiating element but also as an argument to raise the price of the phone. This is the case of the Carbon 1 MK II: the carbon fiber used by the brand raises the bar to the price of a high-end device.

Carbon 1 MK II could be a mid-range. The MediaTek Helio P90, SoC of 2018, already hints at the austerity of the device in terms of components; LPDDR4X RAM (8GB) and UFS 2.1 storage (256GB) accompany the cut in technology. At least it does have enough space, even if it lacks an SD card.
The main point of this phone is the carbon fiber. The use of this material adds distinction to the design, but also lightness: its 125 grams of weight seem spectacular. In addition, the Carbon 1 MK II is only 6.3mm thick, making it one of the thinnest models currently available (and it is impact-resistant, according to Carbon Mobile). On the downside: its 3,000mAh battery doesn’t promise much battery life (The company assures us that the phone can handle an intensive day’s use).
Carbon 1 MK II price and release date
The new mobile has been officially presented and will be available at the end of March. It will be available in Europe first and there’s no further detail for other markets. It has a 799 euros (around $960) price tag and it is available in one color: black.
