Google has begun the rollout of its agentic AI assistant, Gemini Spark, to the Gemini app for macOS. The assistant is exclusively available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States.

Gemini Spark was introduced during Google’s I/O developer conference in May as a tool that can perform tasks on behalf of users. On Mac computers, users can instruct Spark to organize PDFs in their Downloads folder into designated categories. Additionally, Spark can execute tasks within Workspace applications using files stored on the computer, such as creating spreadsheets from invoices.

Future updates will enable Spark to execute tasks remotely via commands sent from a user’s phone. For example, users can request Spark to locate specific files on their laptop and email those files while they are away. However, utilizing these features requires users to grant Gemini permission to access their files.

For enhanced functionality, users can connect Spark with Google Tasks and Google Keep. Integration with third-party applications, including Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, and Zillow Rental, is expected in the coming weeks.

Gemini Spark for macOS is still in beta testing. The service is available only to individuals in the U.S., aged 18 and older, with a subscription cost of $100 per month for Google AI Ultra.
