Firefox 151 has introduced artificial intelligence controls for its mobile browser on both iOS and Android systems. Users now have the option to use a binary toggle to disable all generative AI features. Additionally, specific AI features can be selectively enabled or disabled based on user preference.

Mozilla’s browser includes several AI capabilities, including translations and voice search, which are available in the latest release. The total opt-out feature for AI tools is not typical among technology companies, with many such as Google lacking similar options.

This release follows the introduction of AI controls for the desktop version of Firefox in February. Mozilla is also participating in Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, which examines the implications of AI for cybersecurity, addressing both challenges and potential solutions.
