Huawei is reportedly planning to launch a new series of smartwatches named the “X” series by the end of 2026. This information was disclosed by several tipsters on Weibo, suggesting that the smartwatches will debut as a flagship lineup in the consumer market, currently codenamed “supernova.” The series is expected to include two models, the “X1” and “X1 Pro.”

The introduction of the “X” branding expands Huawei’s existing use of the “X” name, which is already associated with its foldable devices, including the Mate series and Pura X clamshell products. Despite these reports, Huawei has not officially confirmed the development of the smartwatch line.

In response to the speculation, several netizens have raised questions about the necessity of a new smartwatch series given the company’s current offerings, which include both affordable and premium models. Some observers propose that the luxurious design of the “supernova” series may be geared toward a younger audience.

Predictions indicate that the upcoming smartwatches could be fully featured similar to the Watch 5, with enhanced battery life. However, detailed information about the new models remains speculative as Huawei has yet to provide official details regarding the launch.
