Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 15 Special Edition, which features a 50MP primary rear camera and a 5,800mAh battery, following a series of teasers. The device is identical to the Redmi Note 15 5G sold in China and aims to capture attention with its specifications and pricing.
The Redmi Note 15 Special Edition is available in three color options: Crimson Reserve, Carbon Black, and Frosted White. The Crimson Reserve variant has a faux-leather rear panel, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset with Adreno 710 GPU, it supports configurations of up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable to 1TB via a microSD card.
The device boasts a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display achieves a peak brightness of 3,200 nits and includes a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, catering to gaming and multimedia needs. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 20MP front camera.
Battery performance mirrors the Chinese variant with its 5,800mAh capacity, supporting 45W fast charging capabilities. The Redmi Note 15 Special Edition runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2, indicating an up-to-date software experience.
Additional features include an under-display fingerprint scanner, IP55 and IP66 ratings, and MIL-STD-810H certification for durability. The device also comes equipped with an infrared sensor and stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 5G, and dual 4G VoLTE.
The starting price for the Redmi Note 15 Special Edition is INR 19,999 ($215) for the 6GB/128GB model. The 8GB/128GB variant is priced at INR 21,999 ($235), while the 8GB/256GB model retails at INR 22,999 ($250).
