The 98th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars 2026, recognized achievements in cinema from 2025.

“One Battle After Another” received six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, and Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, marking it as the leading award recipient.

“Sinners,” which had 16 nominations, secured four Oscars. These included Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Cinematography for Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Best Original Score, and Best Original Screenplay. Arkapaw became the first woman to win in the Cinematography category.

“Frankenstein” earned three awards from its nine nominations, including Achievement in Production Design, Costume Design, and Makeup and Hairstyling.

Other notable wins included “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters” for Best Original Song, the first KPop song to achieve this distinction. The ceremony also featured a tie in the Best Live-Action Short Film category between “The Singers” and “Two People Exchanging Saliva,” making it the first tie since 2013.
