Sony has announced a price increase for PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) subscriptions in 15 Latin American countries, effective April 16, 2025, affecting all tiers of the service.

The 15 countries impacted by the price hike are Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. Sony attributes the price increases to “global market conditions,” stating that they are necessary to maintain the quality of games and benefits offered to PS Plus subscribers.

The price increase applies to all PS Plus tiers: Essential, Extra, and Deluxe. New users in the affected countries will immediately pay the increased prices, while existing subscribers will see the new prices reflected at their next billing cycle. The updated prices are as follows: PS Plus Essential will cost $7.99 for one month, $20.99 for three months, and $64.99 for 12 months; PS Plus Extra will cost $11.99 for one month, $33.99 for three months, and $107.99 for 12 months; and PS Plus Deluxe will cost $13.99 for one month, $39.99 for three months, and $124.99 for 12 months.

These new prices represent a $10 increase for 12 months of PS Plus Essential, a $14 increase for 12 months of PS Plus Extra, and an $18 increase for 12 months of PS Plus Deluxe. It’s worth noting that PS Plus Deluxe is offered in countries where PS3 game streaming is unavailable, instead of PS Plus Premium, and therefore provides a reduced value.

This announcement coincides with the reveal of eight new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium next week, including Hogwarts Legacy. PS Plus is a subscription service that provides PlayStation users with access to online multiplayer, monthly downloadable games, and other exclusive content and discounts, with different tiers offering varying levels of benefits.
