Hyperkin is set to release its “Competitor” Xbox controller in October for $49.99, after initially teasing the product in 2019. The final design was revealed at CES 2025. The controller will be available in black and white in North America, while Europe and Australia will receive red, blue, and gold versions, with the latter colors also planned for a later North American release.
The Competitor distinguishes itself with a symmetrical joystick layout, drawing comparisons to the PlayStation DualSense controller. It will feature Hall effect joysticks to prevent stick drift, impulse triggers, separated D-pad buttons, back buttons with locks, and a dedicated mic mute button. The controller is wired-only, and does not include advanced haptic feedback or adaptive triggers.
Hyperkin had revealed a less exciting design in 2023. The eventual design has fully embraced comparisons to PlayStation controllers.
