On Monday, June 12, 2023, a video introducing the Driver Ratings for the next EA SPORTS F1 23 game from Electronic Arts and Codemasters was released. EA didn’t only reveal the new video but also showcased all of the detailed F1 23 driver ratings on its website.

The Driver Ratings for each driver on the real-world grid are one of the most important elements of a My Team in any of the most recent Formula 1 video games. The purpose of these evaluations is to inform potential My Team players about the qualities of the present drivers so they may assemble the best team during their playthrough.

Just like every other game and publication, F1 23 driver ratings also have a certain way of evaluating each individual in a common ranking system. This system is formed by different aspects, considering the important things when it comes to evaluating an F1 driver. Here are the things that EA considers when giving a driver his rating:

  • Experience (EXP): It is based on how many races a driver has started throughout their career.
  • Racecraft (RAC): The ability of the driver to pass the field and finish in a position higher than when they started.
  • Awareness (AWA): In this situation, drivers will benefit by spending less time in the Steward’s room. The score in this area will be influenced by actual sanctions.
  • Pace (PAC): Favors competitors who come the closest to the quickest lap times in qualifying and the race. A driver defeating a fellow team member is also taken into account.
  • Rating (RTG): The sum of the four ratings that came before. Based on performance, this overall ranking will fluctuate over the season.

For 2023, four new drivers who weren’t on the grid in 2022 have been ranked. With an overall rating of 80, Nico Hulkenberg returns to being a normal driver after being a My Team Icon. Piastri, the best of the three rookies, ranks first overall with a score of 74, followed by Sargeant and de Vries at 71.

F1 teammates tried to guess each other’s ratings

It wouldn’t be OK just to reveal the F1 23 ratings and not create any content related to it. This year, Electronic Arts decided to follow the tradition and made teammates guess each other’s ratings.

Drivers were teamed up, typically with their colleagues, to estimate each other’s scores, much as last season. Despite being on separate teams, Oscar Piastri, Logan Sargeant, and Nick de Vries were the three rookies on the grid, and George Russell and Lando Norris were given the task of guessing each other.

Fans gathered under the tweet and commented on the content. Some said how they enjoyed watching it, while others had criticism on drivers’ guesses of each other’s F1 23 ratings. In the end, EA announced the official numbers!
