The company’s latest Tesla Holiday Update2022 brings a few much anticipated new features, such as Tesla Steam integration and the introduction of Apple Music to your car.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, tweeted in July that the firm was “making progress” with a Steam connection, so the formal addition of Steam shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to owners who already have access to titles like Cuphead and Stardew Valley. Owners may now have access to many more games thanks to the arrival of Steam for Tesla.

Tesla apparently revised this in the release notes to indicate Model S and X cars from the model year 2022 or newer with 16GB of RAM. Tesla claims that Steam will be accessible on “new” Model S and X vehicles. Tesla’s promotional trailer mainly promotes Cyberpunk 2077, however, we’ll have to wait and see which games actually perform the best. The firm claims that Steam brings “thousands” of games to its automobiles.

Tesla cars are also getting Apple Music at last, in addition to other popular apps like Steam. The app is now apparently going out as part of an official Tesla release after reportedly making an appearance in a Model S in a museum exhibit last month.

Numerous additional features are also included in the Tesla Holiday Update 2022. You can schedule a light display to appear simultaneously on several vehicles using an improved light show mode. The business showcased it in a really absurd video on its official Twitter account:

While in Dog Mode or Sentry Mode, you’ll be able to watch the inside of the car on the Tesla app and make Zoom calls from the cabin camera. The update, officially designated 2022.44.25, is currently being distributed.

Tesla Holiday Update 2022 includes technical changes too

Apart from adding new applications, the update also made minor touches to existing applications. Here is a brief summary of all the updates included in Tesla Holiday Update 2022:

  • Apple Music made available
  • Steam support added to Tesla’s models newer than 2022
  • Control your garage door remotely using MyQ from your touchscreen
  • Emissions Testing Mode in the Tesla app
  • Always show Rainbow Road
  • Make Zoom calls with the cabin camera
  • UI cards are back, including a new media card

Now, Bluetooth-connected mobile devices making active phone calls will first ask for authorization before sending audio to the car.

Contact lookup

From a Bluetooth device that is connected, look up contacts. Tap the icon for “Application Launcher > Phone > Contacts > Search” to get there.

Media controls improvements

For simple access, media controls are located near the driver. To access “Recents & Favorites” and “Sources,” swipe up. You can obtain trip and tire pressure information by swiping left or right.

Emissions Testing Mode via Mobile app

The Mobile App now allows for use of the Emission Testing Mode. Drag the “Fart” icon to the top row by long-pressing any quick controls icon on the home screen.

Note: Versions 4.15.0+ of the mobile app are required for this feature.

And that’s it for Tesla Holiday Update 2022. As the end of the year approaches, Tesla is offering this update as a happy new year gift! While things are going well for Elon Musk on Tesla and Twitter, some of his businesses making questionable decisions. We recommend you take a look at our news titled SpaceX tender offer is said to value the company at $140 Billion.
