Today we explain Victoria 3 welfare payments. You don’t just want your Pops to be productive employees or parts of an industrial machine in Victoria 3, do you? You also desire their happiness! You want them to be able to appreciate life’s finer things, have time and opportunities to do so, and even aspire to procreate in order to contribute to the prosperity and strength of your nation.

Most essential, you don’t want them to revolt, overthrow the government, or even worse, found their own nation. You want to make sure they have a high standard of living more than anything.

In Victoria 3, a person’s ability to survive and eventually thrive is indicated by their Pop’s Standard of Living. In the simplest terms possible:

  • Each Pop has a unique set of needs. A pop’s needs will grow as their wealth does, and they may require a wider range of goods to support their lifestyle. For instance, Pops of Wealth level 20 and higher are the only ones who can consume Luxury Food Goods.
  • Pops purchase needs using their income.
  • When a Pop has money left over after devoting their salary to necessities, their wealth level rises until their spending matches their need obligations.

In Victoria 3, there are three fundamental “ranks” of employment based on how much money a building provides for them:

  • The Lower Strata jobs include those in the lower strata, such as clerks, farmers, laborers, machinists, peasants, slaves, and servicemen.
  • Academics, bureaucrats, clergymen, engineers, officers, and shopkeepers are among the Middle Strata vocations that pay on average and require education to enter.
  • The Upper Strata vocations are those held by aristocrats and businessmen.

A Pop’s Expected Standard of Living is determined by the Strata to which they belong; if their standard of living falls below this benchmark, they are more likely to feel unhappy and fuel radicalism and unrest.

A Pop’s Standard of Living hence roughly equates to their Wealth level. Make sure a Pop can afford their Needs and yet have money left over to grow their Wealth if you want to elevate their Standard of Living. Although there are other options, increasing wages will likely play a big part in this.

How to raise wages in Victoria 3?

Making sure that salaries may increase is the best approach to boost the standard of living in your nation. Making ensuring Pops’ jobs at your buildings are profitable is part of this. Simply said, when a building needs to recruit new employees, wages rise. A building can only do this if its balance is positive.

To keep wages high, you’ll need a competitive workforce, so don’t focus all of your efforts and growth on a small number of industries or states in favor of, say, your capital. While wages also vary by occupation—lower paying jobs are inevitable in the game—making an effort to increase all earnings will raise the standard of living in your nation overall.

A strong supply chain is also essential to meeting needs because without enough Goods, prices will grow too high for Pops on lower incomes to bear.

How to raise welfare spending in Victoria 3?

Adding welfare spending is another quick and simple approach to increase your standard of living. Welfare payments may be granted to parents whose incomes fall below the Normal Wage, which is determined by averaging several different wages across your country, if permitted by your laws.

One of the laws you can amend is welfare, whose various degrees allow you to advance your Social Security institution. More Pops will benefit from the additional funds because higher welfare levels will lower the eligibility requirement for receiving welfare payments. The Standard of Living will dramatically increase at higher levels as a result of this.

The Old Age Pension Welfare Law will also boost dependent income and dependent enfranchisement, strengthening your economy at the expense of a minor decline in your workforce ratio. If achieving a very high standard of living is your goal, this is definitely worthwhile.
