xAI has been officially rebranded as SpaceXAI, five months after the merger of Elon Musk’s AI and space companies. The new name and logo were unveiled in a post on X, confirming that xAI will no longer operate as a separate entity under SpaceX.

Musk revealed the combined company’s new name in May 2023. xAI’s account on the social media platform has been updated to reflect the new branding. SpaceX continues to maintain a separate account dedicated to its space-related content.

After acquiring xAI in February 2023, Musk stated, “global electricity demand for AI simply cannot be met with terrestrial solutions.” He emphasized that relocating data centers to space is “the only logical solution.” SpaceXAI aims to construct orbital data centers.

Prior to the merger announcement, SpaceX filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to launch a million satellites intended for the establishment of a space-based data center. Additionally, xAI acquired X in 2025, which is now also under the SpaceXAI brand.

In June 2023, SpaceX, alongside xAI and X, went public. Stocks closed at $161, valuing the combined entity at $2.1 trillion. While the new brand has yet to be officially reflected in filings, the xAI website displays the new logo and name.
