Tencent has launched ClawBot, a tool linking its WeChat messaging app to the OpenClaw AI agent.

This development comes as Chinese technology firms expedite the release of their AI agent products, intensifying competition in the sector.

ClawBot operates as a WeChat contact, allowing users of the app, which has over one billion monthly active users, to transmit and receive commands to OpenClaw via chat.

OpenClaw is an open-source AI agent capable of executing tasks including file transfers and email communication. The agent has recently garnered increased attention, even as regulators advise on potential security concerns.

Tencent recently introduced its own AI agent products. Alibaba has launched Wukong for enterprise workflows, and Baidu released a series of agents built on OpenClaw.
