Apple is preparing for the release of iOS 27. The first beta is scheduled for release during WWDC 2026 in June, with the public release expected in September for compatible iPhones.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg indicated that iOS 27 emphasizes improving “quality and underlying performance,” drawing a parallel to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Despite this focus, the update will introduce new features, many under the Apple Intelligence brand.

Rumored iOS 27 features include:

  • Siri enhancements: Siri is expected to feature a new design, provide proactive suggestions, and retain memory of past conversations. These changes follow a more personalized version of Siri anticipated with iOS 26.4.
  • New Apple Intelligence features: An AI-powered Calendar app is rumored. Additionally, a new Apple Health+ subscription service will reportedly incorporate an AI health coach offering nutrition planning and medical suggestions. Google Gemini will power some Apple Intelligence features.
  • 5G satellite internet connectivity: iOS 27 is expected to support 5G satellite internet connectivity, though this functionality may be exclusive to iPhone 18 Pro models. Further satellite features are rumored, such as Apple Maps via satellite and the capability to send and receive photos using Messages via satellite.

Additional reports on iOS 27 features are expected in the upcoming months.
