If you accidentally hid your bookmarks bar in Google Chrome, you can easily restore it with a few simple clicks. When active, the bookmarks bar displays your most recent bookmarks for quick access on computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

How to display the bookmarks bar in Google Chrome

Follow these two methods to show your bookmarks bar or access bookmarks on computer or mobile devices.

Method 1: On a computer

  • Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the Google Chrome window.
  • Hover overBookmarks and lists, then selectShow bookmarks bar.
  • Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + B on Windows or Cmd + Shift + B on Mac.
  • To hide the bar again, right-click the bookmarks bar and uncheckShow bookmarks bar.

Method 2: On mobile devices

  • Open the Google Chrome app, which looks like a multi-colored sphere.
  • Tap the three-dot menu (⋮). On Android, it’s in the top-right; on iOS, it’s in the bottom-right.
  • TapBookmarks next to the star icon. You may need to swipe left on the top icons to find it.
  • Check if sync is enabled to see your desktop bookmarks. If not visible, ensure you’re logged into the correct Google account.
Pro tip: Enable Chrome sync across devices to access the same bookmarks seamlessly on computer and mobile without repeating steps.

Once your bookmarks bar is visible, organize your bookmarks into folders for better navigation. Drag and drop them directly on the bar or right-click to edit. Consider pinning your most-used sites for even faster access.

Enable Google account sync if not already done to keep bookmarks updated everywhere. Regularly review and remove outdated bookmarks to keep your bar clutter-free and efficient.
