Salesforce has announced Agentforce 360, the latest version of its artificial intelligence agent platform, as the company competes to attract enterprise clients in an increasingly populated market. The customer relationship management company revealed the new platform ahead of its annual Dreamforce customer conference, which begins on October 14. This new version of Agentforce introduces new methods for instructing AI agents through text, a new platform for building and deploying agents, and updated infrastructure for the messaging app Slack.
A notable feature within Agentforce 360 is its new AI-agent prompting tool, named Agent Script, which is scheduled for a beta release in November. Agent Script provides users with the ability to program their AI agents with “if/then” logic. This function is designed to make the agents more flexible and better equipped to respond to variable situations, such as customer questions, making them more predictable in less rigid scenarios.
Through the platform, users can utilize “reasoning” models, which are described as being able to think before responding, as opposed to generating responses based on patterns. These “reasoning” agents are powered by technology from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini.
Salesforce also announced the release of a new agent-building tool, Agentforce Builder. This tool allows users to build, test, and deploy AI agents from a single, centralized location. Agentforce Builder, which will also be released in beta in November, includes Agentforce Vibes, an enterprise-grade app-vibe coding tool that Salesforce announced earlier this month.
The company confirmed a broader integration between Agentforce and Slack. Core Salesforce applications, including Agentforce Sales, IT, and HR, will begin to surface directly within the Slack interface starting this month. The company plans to expand this integration through the beginning of 2026.
As part of the integration, Slack is piloting a new version of its Slackbot chatbot. This updated chatbot is intended to act as a personalized AI agent that learns about a user’s activities to offer insights and suggestions. Salesforce also plans for Slack to function as an enterprise search tool in the future and aims to launch connectors with platforms such as Gmail, Outlook, and Dropbox in early 2026 to enable this capability.
This announcement from Salesforce comes at a time of significant activity in the enterprise AI market. Last week, Google announced Gemini Enterprise, a suite of tools for building enterprise-grade AI agents. Early customers for this offering include Figma, Klarna, and Virgin Voyages.
Anthropic has also demonstrated progress with its enterprise product, Claude Enterprise. The company secured a deal with the consulting firm Deloitte to bring its Claude chatbot to Deloitte’s 500,000 global employees. A day later, Anthropic announced a strategic partnership with IBM.
Salesforce states that Agentforce has 12,000 customers, which it claims is a significantly higher number than any of its competitors. The company also named Lennar, Adecco, and Pearson as early pilot customers of its Agentforce 360 upgrades. These developments are occurring even as a recent MIT study found that 95% of enterprise AI pilots fail before they reach production, highlighting the ongoing difficulties companies have in justifying the expense of these tools.
