In Metroid Prime Remastered, players will face off against the ultimate adversary, the Metroid Prime last boss, after navigating through the treacherous Crater Tunnel B in the Impact Crater. This formidable boss takes on two distinct forms, making it a challenging obstacle that players must overcome in order to triumph. Fear not, for this guide is here to aid you in your quest for victory. Below, we’ll provide a comprehensive breakdown on how to defeat the Metroid Prime last boss in Metroid Prime Remastered.

Metroid Prime last boss: How to beat it?

There are two phases in this boss fight. Let’s explore the mechanics!

Metroid Prime last boss phase 1

As soon as players initiate the Metroid Prime battle, the first order of business is to scan the boss. Scanning it will grant a valuable Log Book entry and allow fans to engage in combat with the shell. Now, when it comes to the fight, players must pay close attention to the changing colors of the Metroid Prime’s shell.

Each color signifies a different vulnerability to a particular Beam, and fans should use the Power Beam when the shell turns yellow, the Wave Beam when it turns purple, the Ice Beam when it turns white, and Metroid Prime Remastered’s Plasma Beam when it turns red. It’s worth noting that players who have collected the Wavebuster, Ice Spreader, and Flamethrower can use these optional Beam upgrades to quickly end this phase of the battle. However, simply firing fully-charged Power, Wave, Ice, and Plasma Beams is sufficient to emerge victorious.

During the battle, it’s crucial for players to stay mobile by constantly moving between the left and right sides of the hallway. This simple movement pattern will enable fans to avoid the majority of Metroid Prime’s projectile attacks, and as they deal damage to the boss, its shell will gradually turn black.

This coloring indicates that the boss is preparing to execute a charge attack, and players should quickly assume the Morph Ball form and roll through one of the channels in the floor to avoid getting hit. Additionally, players should watch out for two orbs that will periodically appear above the Metroid Prime during this phase of the fight. These orbs will slowly move towards the player, and it’s essential to lock onto them and eliminate them with Missiles as soon as possible.

Metroid Prime last boss phase 2

Once players have fully depleted the health of the Metroid Prime’s shell, the boss will expose its core, which is an opportune time to scan it for the final Log Book entry. After scanning the core, players should focus on defense by keeping their distance from the boss and utilizing Metroid Prime Remastered’s Space Jump Boots to avoid the shock waves it sends out.

As the battle progresses, the Metroid Prime will eventually cease its direct attacks, become invisible, and generate a pool of Phazon on the ground. This indicates that it’s time for players to switch to offense and deal some damage to this final Metroid Prime boss. To do so, players must step into the Phazon pool to activate Hypermode, use the X-Ray or Thermal Visor to locate the hidden Metroid Prime, and unleash a barrage of firepower upon it.

Players must now repeat this process multiple times, adopting a defensive approach when there is no Phazon pool and switching to an aggressive stance when one appears. During this phase of the fight, different types of Metroids will occasionally emerge alongside the pools, but they can be easily eliminated with a Power Bomb or in Hypermode. At this stage of the game, these small creatures are no match for Samus Aran in Metroid Prime Remastered, and they should pose no significant threat as players strive to defeat the Metroid Prime and reach the end credits.
