Minecraft is a sandbox video game developed by Mojang Studios. The game was created by Markus “Notch” Persson in the Java programming language. Following several early private testing versions, it was first made public in May 2009 before being fully released in November 2011, with Notch stepping down and Jens “Jeb” Bergensten taking over development. Minecraft has since been ported to several other platforms and is the best-selling video game of all time, with over 238 million copies sold and nearly 140 million monthly active players as of 2021.
In Minecraft, players explore a blocky, procedurally generated 3D world with virtually infinite terrain and may discover and extract raw materials, craft tools and items, and build structures, earthworks, and simple machines. Depending on their chosen game mode, players can fight hostile mobs, as well as cooperate with or compete against other players in the same world. Game modes include a survival mode (in which players must acquire resources to build in the world and maintain health) and a creative mode (where players have unlimited resources and access to flight). There is also a wide variety of user-generated content, such as modifications, servers, skins, texture packs, and custom maps, which add new game mechanics and possibilities.
Minecraft Live is coming, it’s time for players to vote for the game’s next mob. Last year, we got the Allay, a cute, friendly floating animal that dances and gathers stuff when you play music, beating out the Glare and the Copper Golem. This year’s first mob candidate appears to be equally adorable and helpful.

What does the Sniffer do Minecraft character explained
The Sniffer is characterized as follows: “an old species that was once a part of the ecology of the Overworld. You may now bring back the extinct, if you locate its egg! Hatch new mobs, breed them, and figure out how to resurrect the extinct. Only the Sniffer can help you develop some attractive plants!”
Sniffers are born as four-legged blocks with moss-covered backs and a large honking snout after hatching from eggs. That snout will smell the ground for seeds, and when it discovers any, it will flop down on its belly and dig them up with its nose. The seeds it discovers may then be harvested and grown into ornamental plants by the user.
If the community picks the Sniffer in the community mob vote, Mojang offered not only the Sniffer but also a range of new beautiful plants. The last two alternatives will be announced in the following days.
Will the Sniffer be able to return to the overworld? On October 15, Mojang will hold Minecraft Live, the yearly televised extravaganza that delivers us intriguing news about what’s to come in Minecraft. The community mob vote will begin one day earlier on October 14 at 12:00 EDT and will run for 24 hours, so make sure you vote within that time frame.
