Vampire Survivors evolve weapons are your only sure-fire way to deal with the ever-growing hordes of horrific creatures that try to swarm you. But the game doesn’t guide you towards them. Instead, in order to obtain one of these strong weapons, you’ll need to know what to upgrade and how to do it.

To improve an item in Vampire Survivors, you must first level up a weapon to its maximum level, then collect the linked object when it appears on the level-up screen, and finally kill a boss monster and open its chest. Generally, only one weapon can be evolved per chest, including the higher tier chests but there are a few exceptions. You simply have a few weapon and item slots available, so make your selections wisely.

Evolution is a game mechanic that changes a base weapon to a stronger evolved weapon using a passive item as a catalyst. Union is a combination of two weapons. Evolved weapons usually inherit most of the base weapon stats with extra effects, most Area-of-Effect weapons may add bonus to Area and some have changes on base damage because their behavior is different.

The items that work well with a weapon aren’t necessarily the ones you’ll need to advance it, so while the Candelabrador is an excellent choice for the Garlic weapon, you’ll also need a Pummarola to power it up.
